فخامة رئيس الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية تحية طيبة و بعد ؛ نحسب - فخامة الرئيس - أن المجتمعات البشرية بحاجة ماسة هذه الأيام وأكثر من أي وقت مضى لترسيخ مبادئ العدالة والعقلانية وتعميق قيم الحوار المتمدن وإشاعة مفردات الثقة المتبادلة بين الدول والشعوب مما يعزز حركة المثاقفة ويعينها على تلمس سُبلٍ أكثر للتعاضد والتعاون على الارتقاء بالحياة الإنسانية وتحقيق السعادة والطمأنينة والرفاهية والسلام في ظل ثقافة المجتمعات وإطارها الحضاري. ولقد عكر صفونا - فخامة الرئيس - وساءنا للغاية ما تحمله الأخبار بشكل دوري عن أوضاع بعض العرب *****لمين في الولايات المتحدة، وما يعانون من مضايقات متعددة من قبل بعض السلطات الأمريكية، و بخاصة المبتعثين السعوديين، و قد كنا قد تفاءلنا خيراً بالحديث عن عودة بعثات الطلاب السعوديين إلى الولايات المتحدة، وتخلي السلطات الأميركية عن إزعاجهم ومضايقتهم لهم، خاصة أنه لم يثبت أن أحداً من المبتعثين الأكاديميين السعوديين سبق منه أي عمل إرهابي لمدة تزيد عن نصف قرن منذ بدأت فكرة الإبتعاث إلى الولايات المتحدة . و لكن ما جرى مؤخراً لطالب الدكتوراه السعودي الأستاذ حميدان بن علي التركي و زوجته و أطفاله من تصرف غير لائق من قبل السلطات الحكومية ضده و ضد أسرته؛ ليبعث على الاستنتاج بوجود نوايا و تصرفات تتقصد الإساءة للطلاب السعوديين ممثلين بالأستاذ التركي، ثم إن سجنه و سجن زوجته و تفريقهم عن أطفالهم الخمسة، و تهديد من يزور الأطفال أو يحاول مساعدتهم، و منع الزوجة من لبس الحجاب، و ظهورها في المحكمة بلباس السجن؛ ليؤكد - شئنا أم أبينا ، أدركنا أم لم ندرك- وجود من يغرس ثقافة الكراهية والتمييز العنصري ضد العرب *****لمين وهو ما يتناقض تماماً مع الحاجات الأساسية التي أشرنا إليها في مقدمة بياننا هذا، وتأكلنا الدهشة – فخامة الرئيس - ونحن نتساءل: لمصلحة َمن يتم ذلك؟ وأين الحقوق التي يضمنها النظام الأمريكي الديموقراطي لبني آدم – وكلنا لآدم- والذين تقلهم أرض أمريكا وتظللهم سماؤها؟ و نحن نعلم جيداً أن الأستاذ التركي و عائلته ليست لديهم أية أعمال إرهابية، كما نثق جداً بسلوكه وانضباطه وتمدنه مما يعني استبعاد الفرضيات الهزيلة المتعلقة بالاختطاف والتحرش الجنسي بالخادمة، ونتذكر جيداً كذلك جهود الأستاذ التركي الطيبة في سبيل غرس ثقافة الحوار. وبناءً على ما سبق كله نرجو فخامة الرئيس سرعة الإفراج عنه و الاعتذار له ولأسرته عن الإساءة الكبيرة التي لحقت بهم. وهذه خطوة نثمنها كمثقفين يسعون جاهدين لنشر مبادئ العدالة والعقلانية وإبعاد كل ما يعارضها أو يناقضها من الرؤى والآراء والتصرفات في هذا الجانب أو ذاك، و نقدر لكم فخامة الرئيس عنايتكم واهتمامكم ،،،
